Claire is a Australian poet, writer and educator.
Her poetry has been published and won awards in the Calanthe Collective open poetry category, featured in the audio-visual album '11 Whispers' for Luain press, longlisted in the Lane Cove literacy awards and highly commended in the Katharine Susannah Prichard open poetry competition.
She performs her poems at open mic nights across Greater Sydney, and is a previous winner in the enoughsaidpoetryslam in Wollongong. She also placed in the Northern Beaches heat of the Australian Poetry Slam 2023.
Her short stories have been published in several anthologies.
In 2020 'Child:Goddess:Sister' was shortlisted for the Sydney Hammond Memorial Prize and her monologue 'Beginnings' featured in the Voices of Women storytelling event 'CLEARWAY' performed and recorded in Sydney.
I recognise the traditional owners of the land on which I write; the Darug and GuriNgai peoples.
I pay respect to their Ancestors and Elders past and present and to their heritage.
Always was, Always will be, Aboriginal land.
